Depending on your situation and program availability, we may recommend one or more of the following support options:
Adoption
We transfer your caterpillars to our native milkweed plants, where they can continue developing naturally with minimal human intervention.
Short-Term Captive Rearing
For late-instar caterpillars that are at risk of running out of food, we may provide a rearing container and fresh host plant leaves so they can complete the feeding stage. In some situations, we may provide the short-term captive rearing ourselves.
Chrysalis Relocation Assistance
If a chrysalis has formed in an unsafe or inconvenient location, we can provide guidance or hands-on assistance with safely relocating it when appropriate.
Please note that every situation is unique. Our recommendations are based on the needs of the monarchs, current science-based best practices, and available program resources.

The 50 mile limit pertains to our ability to deliver host plants to you. If you are more than 50 miles away we can meet up with you in a location about 50 miles from our location. There may also be someone in our Provider network who lives near you.
