Our Experience

We have multiple species of Rudbeckia in our habitat. Though there are similarities across the genus, each species has its own unique characteristics. We like this species because of its height and thrives on benign neglect. It is also a host plant for the Silvery Checkerspot.

Keystone Species by the Numbers

The numbers provided indicate how many species of Lepidoptera caterpillars use the plant as a host, or how many pollen specialist bees rely on the plant. Information obtained from Garden for Wildlife published by the National Wildlife Federation. Scroll down the page to load more entries.
