About the Organization
Our farm’s focus is regenerative Urban Farming and agroforestry exploration. Our organization contributes to the local community by integrating regenerative farming practices with artistic and agricultural education. We prioritize creating a sustainable urban farm that not only grows fresh produce but also offers hands-on learning experiences in farming, gardening, and agroforestry. Porte NOIRE Gardens fosters food sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment. The plants from the Plant Donation Program will be integrated into our existing pollinator education zones, forest-edge habitat restoration projects, and art-integrated garden installations along our Al’Umma Art Walk, a nature trail and outdoor gallery. These plants will serve as living curriculum for school visits, summer camp programs, and community workshops on native ecology, butterfly lifecycles, and environmental healing. By showcasing keystone and host plants, we aim to teach all ages how to steward and restore ecological balance.
These native plants will not only enhance habitat for butterflies and pollinators but also anchor our lessons in the beauty and importance of biodiversity. We are grateful for the opportunity to deepen our ecological impact with this generous support.
