About the Organization
We have renovated our neighborhood entrance to remove non-native species and lawns and to add native shrubs, grasses, and perennials. It is a gradual project as the expense of renovation was high. There is room for more native plants. The neighbors as well as the public can view the entrance gardens from their cars or they can walk to them from Marydell Rd. The HOA is trying to education the neighborhood on the benefits of planting natives and to urge them to decrease their lawn areas. These entrance gardens serve as an example. Last year we received 10 penstemon plants from you and look forward to their bloom this year. I also bought some plants for this garden from your plant sale. I think that it is better to plant swaths of a specie rather than one of each. This is not only for aesthetics but also a swath makes it easier for insects to find them.
