About the Organization

Sandy Ridge Elementary School is a small rural school dedicated to fostering a love for nature and environmental stewardship among our students. Nestled in the heart of Stokes County, Nc, we serve 250 students from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about hands-on learning and making a positive impact on our local ecosystem.

Our school is committed to integrating science, conservation, and outdoor education into our curriculum. A butterfly garden would provide a unique opportunity for students to study pollinators, their life cycles, and their critical role in biodiversity. It would also enhance our existing outdoor learning spaces and serve as a vibrant habitat for native plants and butterflies, promoting environmental awareness within our school and the surrounding community.

With this grant, we aim to create a sustainable, student-led project that will inspire curiosity, nurture responsibility, and contribute to the preservation of local wildlife for generations to come.
