About the Organization
I am the church gardener. I have completed the Master Gardener program in 2015. And I have been a gardener for over 60 years, learning organic gardening from my mom. These gardens are always open to the public and visible from the Highway. We will have signage identifying the plants ( as native) and a sign identifying the garden as a pollinator garden and why that’s important. We are a diverse congregation and we have a number of weddings and funerals every year. We are in a huge tourist area with 200,000 new visitors every week during the summer. It’s a great opportunity for teaching average Americans about native gardening and why it’s so important. The garden has been organic since its inception 20 years ago. I personally know about 10 native bee species in our area and we have monarchs migrating through. Thank you for your consideration of our church as a grant recipient. We look forward to hearing from you.
