Our Experience

We have yet to add grasses to our habitat that serve as host plants. This year we are including a variety of grasses to see how they perform and if we see any caterpillars.

Species of butterfly that use this plant as a host are Green Skipper and Dotted Skipper. The Dotted Skipper has a limited range in North Carolina.
