Introduction
Welcome fellow Moth-ers to this year’s Hillsborough Moth Crawl! We’re excited that you will be joining us this year and be part of this special event.
This year we’re expanding to larger venues to allow us to grow the Crawl. We have received a grant from the Hillsborough Garden Club to help us with the expansion.
Together with your help (and lights if applicable), we will light up the night and fill it with the magic and mystery of MOTHS!
Glossary
I will be using some new terms for this event to help us better communicate. The terms you will need to be familiar with:
Simple Moth Station: Consists of one collecting sheet and one light source.
Multi Moth Station: Consists of one collecting sheet with 2 light sources.
Moth Station Host: A person who can bring, set-up, and tend to their own equipment. We will have the space for you to set-up as many sheets and lights you want to bring.
Moth Station Volunteer: A person who will tend to a Simple or Multi Moth Station provided by Backyard Butterflies.
Volunteer: A person who will provide help as needed during the event. You will be able to indicate your preference(s) so we can best use your talents and skills.
Nonprofit Tabling & Promotion
Applicants who represent a state, county of city park, or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are welcome to table and promote their organization at their Moth Station or at the event. We will include your organization in our promotional materials. You will need to provide your own table and chairs if you plan to represent your organization.
